Help-U-Sell (aka Help-U-Hell) did what anyone and everyone who actually worked with these guys already knew was going to happen. Nortorious for late paying, if even paying vendors at all, these guys are now making it official.

Steve Ozonian last led this crew. I wrote an April Fool’s post about Steve Ozonian this year and judging by some of the comments not a lot of Help-U-Sell franchise owners got the joke.

It’s a shame. I worked with a lot of Help-U-Sell franchise owners and they are a great group of people.

Hopefully things will work out for the best.

Looks like Scott Kucirek has taken the position to lead the statewide MLS initiative in California.

It’s pretty much Alphabet Soup in California now. You’ve got QUATTRO, CARETS and by the way most of California already has a statewide MLS data sharing solution, California MLSAlliance (I wonder if Joel ever shared that with you?)

Is CALMLS a system anyone wants? Or anyone needs? Or the greatest thing ever? Or is it just a myth?

Scott has a solid background, he was one of the founders of, and more recently an a executive for a major Prudential brokerage company.

It will be interesting to see who Scott picks as a Vendor for this project.

Grab your popcorn and juju beans, this one is going to be fun to watch!

Just registered the domain name for one of our new products and filled out the trademark application.

Very sweet stuff. I think you guys are going to like it!

The RESO/RETS Conference is this week. It’s being held in Chicago and the Conrad Chicago Hotel. So if you see a bunch of guys with MacBook Pros walking down Michigan Avenue, that’s them.

Among the topics they will be discussing will be the June 2009 RETS Compliance. According to their website:

“The Real Estate Transaction Standards (RETS) provides a vendor neutral, secure approach to exchanging listing information between the broker and the MLS. In order to ensure that the goal of maintaining an orderly marketplace is maintained, and to further establish REALTOR® information as the trusted data source, MLS organizations owned and operated by associations of REALTOR® will comply with the RETS standards by June 2009, and keep current with the standard’s new versions by implementing new releases of RETS within one year from ratification. ”

Reminds me of Y2K. I guess in this case it would be “Y2.96K” Or maybe one of the RETS geeks could convert that to HEX for me.

P.S. I’ve given Dan Woolley some Vendor Alley swag, including our new baseball cap and t-shirt. I told him to hand them out to the most deserving.

Hate to be such a tease but I’ve going to put a cap on this rumor..for now. Seems that we got some good intel that was well…too good.

Doesn’t look like the rumor will break today. Check back tomorrow.

Something is going down in MLS geekdom. Rumors are flying. Check here later, or if you know something…comment.
